Coke Oven Patching Compound (CORPATCH)

CORPATCH is refractory patching compound for repair of Coke Ovens, specifically for patching of gaps between the metal flash plates and brick work, gaps between bricks, wide cracks and cavities in brick work.

Product Function

CORPATCH comprises of refractory materials with selected granulometry and superior binder system. When mixed with about 30% water, CORPATCH forms a paste which is used for patching of defective areas.
Because of the superior binding system and good suspension agents in the product, CORPATCH ensures good adherence to the brick work and gradual development of strength with increasing temperature. This in turn ensures a good service life of the repaired areas with normal Coke Oven operating temperatures and conditions. CORPATCH can be applied easily by trowel or spatula into the gaps and cavities.

Benefits

  • Due to good workability and plasticity, CORPATCH can be easily applied into the cracks and cavities
  • CORPATCH has low drying and firing shrinkage, thus ensuring good adherence of the patched mass to the defective areas, resulting in longer service life of the repaired areas.
  • Due to good adherence property and low initial sintering temperature, the rebound loss of CORPATCH is much lower.
  • CORPATCH can be used on silica, semi silica and fireclay refractory brick work
  • CORPATCH is an acid free system, hence less hazardous to usе.

Application

The areas of brick work required to be repaired is normally cleaned with a scrapper and compressed air. CORPATCH is mixed with water in given ratio to arrive at a paste of patching consistency. This paste is then applied on the defective area and leveled with brick work using long handled trowel or spatula.

Precautions

CORPATCH is to be stored in dry and covered area away from direct heat source
The contents of a bag of CORPATCH is to be used fully at a time. If some material is left out in the bag, the mouth should be tied properly.
